Registration books close: Special Primary: December 31, 2007
Special General: January 28, 2008

Early voting period: Special Primary: January 14, 2008 to January 27, 2008
Special General: February 18, 2008 to February 24, 2008

Qualifications for office: 21 years of age, Florida resident for 2 years, resident of represented district, registered voter

Term of office: Through remainder of current term (through November 4, 2008)

Term begins: Upon election

Qualifying period: 8 AM, December 6, 2007, through Noon, December 7, 2007

Qualify at: Division of Elections, Room 316, R. A. Gray Building, 500 South Bronough Street, Tallahassee, FL 32399-0250 (phone: 850-245-6200)

Qualifying fee: $1,859.76 for candidates running with party affiliation, $1,239.84 for candidates running without party affiliation

Petition signature requirements: 243, which must be submitted to the Supervisor of Elections by 5 PM on December 3, 2007 for certification by 5 PM on December 5, 2007
