Mail ballot election: This election will be conducted as a mail ballot election. This means that ballots were mailed to each registered voter in the proposed annexation areas. There will be no polling places open for this election. Ballots were mailed on May 26, 2004 (except for overseas voters, whose ballots were mailed on May 11). Because this election is being conducted by mail ballot, you do not need to request an absentee ballot. However, if you reside in one of the proposed annnexation areas and you have moved and not notified the elections office, or if you will not be at your residence address (or will not have access to the mailing address that we have on file for you) after May 26, you must contact us to update your address information and/or to let us know where to mail your ballot.
Moving into the proposed annexation areas: If you move into one of the proposed annexation areas from another area of the county after the ballot mailing period (after June 5), you may vote in office as noted below. Due to requirements of state law, no ballots other than replacement ballots may be mailed after June 5.
Voting in office: Voters with special needs or who are unsure where they will be during the mailing period may vote at the Melbourne or Viera Supervisor of Elections offices during regular office hours from May 11 until 5 PM on June 15 (7 PM at the Viera Office).
Military and overseas voters: If you are in the military or are temporarily residing outside of the country, and you have not notified our office of your military or overseas address, please contact us immediately. If you have notified us previously of your current address, you do not need to do so again. Overseas voters' ballots will be mailed May 11 in order to give you sufficient time to vote and return the ballot.
