2008 Qualifying Information

The qualifying fee listed below is based on a percentage of the annual salary of the office sought. The qualifying fee consists of a three percent filing fee, a two percent party fee, and a one percent election assessment, except that nonpartisan offices do not pay the two percent party fee, and certain offices, as noted below, do not pay the election assessment fee. The fee is based on the salary of the office on July 1 of the year of the election; thus some of the fees below may change before the qualifying period begins.

Some offices allow for candidates to qualify by the petition method in lieu of paying a qualifying fee. The number of signatures required is based on one percent of the number of registered voters in the applicable district for the 2006 General Election (except for special districts, which require 25).

All offices below are partisan except as noted.
